In the province of Marlborough high sunshine hours are moderated by a mild sea, while steep mountains keep moist and chilly winds at bay. A long cool growing season leads to gorgeous flavours.
My goal is to make the Province wines in a classic Marlborough vein, emphasising the varietal intensity created by leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate growing. – Simon Waghorn, Winemaker
Colour/Appearance Mid straw gold
Aroma/Bouquet Full ripe melon and dried stone fruits, light oatmeal notes and a smoky, savoury intrigue
Palate A rich creamy and elegant texture, with stone fruit flavours, pleasing weight and long, dry, mineral finish
Cellaring I think the wine will be at its best drinking after two year’s bottle age in early 2014. The wine was bottled 5th March, 2012, and is already drinking very well
Suggested Foods Pasta, poultry, pork and ham, Mediterranean cuisine in general, white fish and scallops even in rich, creamy sauces
